Agreement to terms

By accessing or using the services provided by Deis Technologies (Pty) Ltd ("Deis Technologies", "we", "us", or "our"), you agree to be bound by these terms.

If you do not agree to these terms, you may not access or use our services.

These terms apply to all users of our APIs, platforms, and services, including customers, developers, and any other parties who access our technology solutions.

Description of services

Deis Technologies provides AI-powered document processing, identity verification, compliance management, and financial-technology services through APIs and web-based platforms.

• Global OCR API for document text extraction across multiple document types.
• SecureCode for cryptographic document verification.
• Document tampering detection and forensic analysis.
• Smart Data Gateway for routing and transformation.
• ComplyHub for compliance-management workflows.
• Lending technology workflows and credit-decisioning APIs.
• Municipal indigent-management and citizen-verification services.

Acceptable use

You may use the services only through approved channels and for legitimate business or public-service purposes.

The following uses are permitted when performed lawfully and within the documented delivery scope:

• Access services through provided APIs using valid credentials.
• Process documents for legitimate business purposes.
• Integrate services into your own applications as documented.
• Use verification results for compliance and due diligence.
• Do not reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to access source code.
• Do not use the services for illegal activities or to process fraudulent documents.
• Do not share API credentials with unauthorised third parties.
• Do not exceed rate limits or attempt to circumvent usage restrictions.
• Do not submit malware, malicious payloads, or unlawful content.
• Do not use the services to infringe on the intellectual-property rights of others.
• Do not resell or redistribute the services without authorisation.

Intellectual property

All intellectual property rights in the services, software, APIs, algorithms, models, documentation, trademarks, and trade secrets remain the property of Deis Technologies.

Customers retain ownership of the documents and data they submit for processing and grant Deis a limited licence to process that material solely to deliver the requested service.

Service outputs may be used for legitimate business purposes subject to these terms and any signed agreement.

Feedback or improvement suggestions may be used by Deis Technologies without further obligation.

Limitation of liability

The services are provided on an as-is and as-available basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Deis Technologies will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, goodwill, or business interruption.

Our total liability for claims arising from the services will not exceed the amounts paid to Deis Technologies during the twelve months preceding the claim.

• This limitation applies to your access to or use of, or inability to access or use, the services.
• This limitation applies to any errors or inaccuracies in the service output, unauthorised access to your data or transmissions, and third-party conduct or content.
• Outputs should be validated where business, legal, or financial decisions depend on the result.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of South Africa, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

Any legal action or proceeding arising out of these terms or the services will be brought exclusively in the courts of South Africa.

Before initiating formal proceedings, you agree to first attempt to resolve the dispute informally by contacting [email protected] in good faith, and we will attempt to resolve the dispute within thirty calendar days.

Termination

You may stop using the services at any time, subject to any applicable contract or subscription terms.

Deis Technologies may suspend or terminate access immediately, without prior notice or liability, for breach, non-payment, suspected fraud, unlawful activity, or other business reasons.

On termination, the right to use the services ceases immediately, and provisions that by their nature should survive termination continue to apply.

General provisions

• Deis Technologies may modify these terms by publishing updated terms on the site or through another appropriate notice channel.
• These terms, together with any applicable service agreement, constitute the entire agreement regarding the services.
• If any provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force and effect.
• Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of that provision.
• You may not assign these terms without prior written consent; Deis may assign them without restriction.
